Welcome / Bienvenue / Bula / Mauri

I am a Canadian scientist and writer based at Princeton University. This site has details about my work on climate change, coral reefs and nutrient cycling, and some dispatches from my travels over the past few years.

My research is inspired by concerns about climate change and also by a lifetime spent in and around water, which the lucky among us appreciate for recreation and beauty, but all of us need for survival.

I maintain a blog on climate and environment issues.

What's new?

Take a look at my new article on diet and environmental pollution.

I've got some frank tips on how what you can do to fight climate change!

The first leg of what will probably be a life-long journey to understand how people's relationship with the climate took me across the western Pacific and SE Asia last year.

Take a look at some dispatches and pictures from these travels!

Our global study of climate change and the bleaching of coral reefs was recently published in Global Change Biology. You can see the abstract here.
